A personal favorite by the furiously unique writer-director Sam Fuller. Based on the true story of a swindler who forged documents to gain control of
large sections of Arizona territory. A very noirish, almost gothic, anti-western, with an appropriately cast Vincent Price as Reavis. Edward D. Wood Jr.
(PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE) is rumored to have an unbilled stunt-double role {in drag, of course} as a female stagecoach passenger.
An early Fuller film which nonetheless is another of his ruthless deconstructions of history/the American Dream/criminal psychology.
930PM Eastern on TCM.
