But here is something new, I think. As I was innocently rewatching the Hammer production THE KISS OF THE VAMPIRE (1963) just now, it struck me that what is essentially the same mask features prominently in both this film and EYES WIDE SHUT. Here it is worn by Barry Warren in the Hammer film (the same prop also turns up hanging on a tavern wall in THE EVIL OF FRANKENSTEIN):
For all I know this may be a traditional Venetian style of mask, but I was still struck by its appearance in two randomly chosen films I watched consecutively.
